Making the Most Out of a NUG Meeting
August 21, 2019
Fall ushers in thoughts of kids returning to school, and for adults in technology, this can also be a time to learn! By attending a local NICE User Group (NUG) chapter meeting, you'll discover many opportunities to increase your technical skills and expertise. Here a few tips to help you make the most of your meeting experience.Step One: Sign up! While it can seem daunting to clear time on your calendar or even a little nerve-wracking venturing somewhere unknown, signing up is the first step for success. Register for upcoming chapter meetings on the NUG website events calendar or by following the links below:Step Two: Familiarize yourself with the event's agenda, and brush up on the topics being covered. The NUG resources library offers many useful assets to bring you up-to-speed on the latest available features and functionality.Step Three: Break from the herd mentality and fly solo! While it's human nature to gravitate toward folks you already know, consider sitting beside someone new. Your team will return to the office armed with more information if you've successfully embraced the divide and conquer strategy.Step Four: Be bold and ask your questions. Chances are someone else in the group is wondering the same thing you are, so ask what's on your mind! And, if you happen to be the first one to pose a question, you'll likely inspire others to follow suit.Step Five: Maintain the connection. When you attend a NUG meeting, you'll receive a full roster of attendees, so stay in touch! Friend them in the NUG and connect with them on LinkedIn. Consider dropping the host and speakers a note, or use the "Give Kudos" LinkedIn functionality to congratulate them on a job well done.Follow these five steps, and you'll earn an A+, guaranteed!
