Signs your contact center is losing customers due to poor CX

Rising customer churn rates that correlate with recent contact center interactions, rather than product or pricing changes, point directly to service experience as a contributing factor. Declining Net Promoter Scores or CSAT trends, particularly when concentrated around specific interaction types or channels, indicate where the experience is failing most acutely. Increasing rates of customers switching to competitors after a support interaction, identifiable through win-loss analysis or exit surveys, is one of the clearest signals available. Social media or review site complaints specifically referencing support experience - long waits, unhelpful agents, repeated contacts - represent visible, public evidence of the problem. Internally, rising repeat contact rates for the same issue indicate customers are not getting resolution on the first attempt, eroding trust with each additional contact required. Addressing these patterns requires connecting interaction-level data to downstream business outcomes like retention and lifetime value.
