NiCE Cognigy launches in India with Multilingual AI Agents, Built for Local Conversations

September 23, 2026

Hosted locally in Mumbai and Hyderabad, NiCE Cognigy gives Indian enterprises secure, easy-to-build AI Agents that work across voice and text, and channels like WhatsApp, helping meet rising customer demand at scale

Mumbai, India, September 23, 2026 — NiCE today announced the general availability of NiCE Cognigy in India, bringing secure, multilingual WhatsApp-ready AI Agents for voice, text and image to customer service teams — enabling always-on, conversational experiences for Indian consumers.

NiCE Cognigy AI Agents bring natural, human-like voice AI to India, with dedicated local speech-to-text and text-to-speech support tuned to the country's languages, dialects and accents — from Hindi, Tamil and Bengali to widely spoken code-mixed variants like Hinglish. NiCE Cognigy is built to let Indian consumers interact with an AI Agent as naturally as they would with another person, and to move fluidly across languages and modes — switching between voice, text or image mid-conversation without losing context.

That flexibility extends across more than 30 channels, including WhatsApp, where Indian consumers increasingly expect service to happen. NiCE Cognigy's expansion into India builds on momentum already in motion: one of the world's largest intercity mobility providers turned to NiCE Cognigy to launch an AI agent on WhatsApp serving its Indian customers, automating everyday customer service enquiries in one of the region's most competitive, highest-expectation markets. The result was faster response times and stronger customer satisfaction.

To ensure resilience, transparency and trust regionally, NiCE Cognigy is available in India on a dedicated environment in Mumbai and Hyderabad as disaster recovery site. With local teams, deployment and support, NiCE is giving Indian enterprises hands-on access to agentic AI already running customer service for enterprises around the world at scale.

"India isn't short of talent, it's short of time. The demand for always-on, multilingual customer service that spans voice and message in India is growing faster than any traditional hiring or training model can keep up with. That's exactly the gap agentic AI is built to close,” Darren Rushworth, President International, NiCE. “We're bringing the NiCE Cognigy AI workforce for customer service to India, backed by local teams, local infrastructure and local language support, so Indian enterprises can scale customer experience on their own terms and building on what they already have."

Using NiCE Cognigy's AI Agent Studio, enterprises can design, test and deploy those AI Agents visually with prompt-based onboarding and more than 100 prebuilt tools and integrations to accelerate time to market. With Agentic Building for CX AI, developers can configure and build Cognigy AI Agents directly from Claude Code, bringing agentic development into the tools they already use. NiCE Cognigy's AI Agents are available on the NiCE CXone platform or as a fully agnostic, standalone capability, so Indian businesses can add agentic AI on top of what they already run instead of starting from scratch.

The launch gives Indian enterprises local deployment, support and in-market demonstration capability for a platform recently recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Conversational AI Platforms for Customer Service, Q2 2026. The announcement comes during the first of two NiCE World India events in Mumbai and New Delhi this September, dedicated to helping customers and partners operationalize agentic AI at enterprise scale
