Reflections on Interactions 2012

I’m just back from Interactions 2012 in Nashville where over 1,500 NICE customers, and NICE business and technology partners shared information and best practices, and learned about new solutions for their organizations.

The transition of the security industry from reactive to predictive was a major theme throughout the security breakout sessions. Here I’m talking about intelligent solutions that provide security, safety and operational insight from mass amounts of available data. We heard from leading companies (like IBM, ESRI, AXIS, and Quantum Secure) who shared innovative ideas, ranging from best practices for cyber security to the many ways that organizations can leverage security platforms for operational value to enhance their ROI. Motorola, Intrado and others shared their views of what the future holds for 9-1-1 centers and public safety communications. And of course, several of our NICE customers shared their top security challenges and told us what they’re doing to stay a step ahead.  On a more personal note, I even learned what a GooGoo is… (I’ll give you a hint: it’s edible and it’s made in Nashville, but personally I thought it looked better than it tasted.)

The showcase area at our NICE customer conference was more impressive than ever this year, with 47 booths demonstrating the latest products and solutions from NICE and of course, our event sponsors. It was a great opportunity for participants to get a close-up view of the various offerings and ask lots of questions.

All in all it was a great week and I really enjoyed meeting our customers and hearing from experts like Chris Swecker and Roger Hixson (NENA), and listening to Billy Beane from the Oakland A’s.

Next year’s conference will take place in Orlando and I am looking forward to it!
