VP R&D

R&D / Engineering | Raanana, Israel | ISRAEL

VP R&D for global R&D unit in multiple locations (US, IL, India, ~180 people). This position has end to end responsibilities within the unit for development & innovation activities and their execution, continuous improvement of the development methodologies, R&D structure, hiring and staffing strategy and perform a full range of leadership responsibilities like driving performance management, managing unit budgets, tracking & improving R&D KPIs and more.

Responsibilities

  • Management of global R&D team in multiple locations (US, IL, India, ~180 people)
  • Global responsibility of development & innovation activities and their execution
  • Continuous improvement of the development methodologies, R&D structure, product quality, scalability and security
  • Hiring and staffing strategy to address employee succession and knowledge sharing
  • Full partnership and tight collaboration with the respective LoB managers, focusing on building the various products in an effective manner
  • Perform a full range of leadership responsibilities: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees, assigning and directing work, driving performance management, managing unit budgets, tracking & improving R&D KPIs and more

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in the Enterprise SW R&D industry
  • 5+ years of experience in managing global R&D organization
  • Proven experience in managing the development of multi components, multi layers, distributed systems (on premise and in the cloud)
  • Experience in new concept and product development as well as sustaining engineering
  • Proven experience in Cloud products and platforms
  • Vast experience in development tools, methods and processes
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality products
  • Good understanding in software quality
  • Experience in advanced development methods such as Agile
  • Ability to lead R&D organization into new directions
  • Independence & quick decision making abilities, sound judgement for raising flags in time
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a very dynamic environment
  • Customer orientation
  • Fluent English – Must
  • Global, multi culture experience in customer facing

Education

  • BS Computer Science and alike from leading academic school
  • MBA an advantage
