Position: Payroll Analyst

Location:  Hoboken, NJ

Summary

You will analyze, audit, reconcile and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing. You will insure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations. You will research and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements and resolve tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing. You will also respond to auditing and regulatory inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing
  • Initiate daily Oracle Connections to ADP
  • Manually maintain employee benefit deductions
  • Process Manual Checks/Voids/ACH Reversals/Stop Payments
  • Calculate first and last pay for New Hires, LOA and Terms
  • Make permanent payroll employee changes to taxes and Direct Deposit Information
  • Prepare, coordinate and administer the payroll garnishments and other court-mandated orders on a regular schedule
  • Upload commissions and bonus payments
  • Process relocation/home leaves reimbursements
  • Act as liaison with ADP in the resolution of payroll problems/errors
  • Prepare, review and analyze payroll reports for accuracy
  • Payroll export of ADP eTime (our time tracking and time off request system)
  • Journal Entries:
    • Prepare semi-monthly payroll journal entries and reconcile to payroll summaries
    • Prepare quarterly vacation accruals based on information received from time tracking system.
  • 401K:
    • Prepare 401k audit reconciliation and yearly 401k match true up
    • Prepare 401k funding reconciliation and enter onto the Schwab Website and Canada Manulife Website

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business strongly preferred
  • CPP desirable

 Experience

  • Minimum 3 years directly applicable payroll experience in a multi-state company
  • Canadian payroll experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with ADP Payforce, etime  and ADP Reporting
  • Experience with ADP Advantage is desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Liaison with auditors, internal and external
  • Research and answer employee payroll deduction questions or resolve problems
  • Prepare and send weekly Census File to healthcare provider
  • Update and handle employee issues with ADP etime
