A "Miracle" Keynote

Interactions2008 will feature a keynote by Mike Eruzione, captain of the 1980 Winter Olympics United States national hockey team that defeated the Soviet Union in the famous "Miracle on Ice" game. Mike's inspiring story shows how the drive, preparation, and determination of an underdog led to the ultimate in high performance.
About Mike
Mike Eruzione served as the captain that led the 1980 United States Olympic Hockey Team to its Gold Medal victory at Lake Placid. His winning goal against the Soviet Union stunned the world. Mike's performance, and the team's triumph, became the subject of the Disney movie "Miracle."
Following the team's victory, Eruzione went on to broadcast for network television. He was an Olympic commentator in Sarajevo, Los Angeles, and Calgary for ABC, and in Albertville and Lillehammer for CBS. In preparation for the 1994 Winter Olympic Games, Eruzione joined the Olympic Hockey Tour to promote the United States team.

For the past several years, Mike, a Massachusetts native, has been keeping busy as a motivational speaker and Director of Development for Athletics and Assistant Head Coach at Boston University. Mike still resides in his hometown of Winthrop, MA, with his wife Donna and their three children. He is active in fund raising events for the U.S. Olympic Committee as well as several other charitable and youth organizations.
