NICE joined forces with our partner Vivotek last week to showcase our innovative security solutions at Secutech Thailand, Thailand’s only professional conference dedicated to municipal security, disaster prevention, and homeland security.
With massive ongoing government projects and substantial foreign investment in the security sector, Thailand is teeming with business opportunities. In fact, you might be surprised to know that Thailand is one of the largest security markets in Southeast Asia with an estimated annual sales potential of over 300 million USD and a 30% projected growth rate for 2012. Based on the interest I saw from prospects and partners visiting our booth at the show, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more activity in Thailand in the coming months.
Another Secutech Thailand high point was the Smart City Forum, which shed light on bettering crime prevention, increasing city management efficiency, improving sustainability, and enhancing public safety with integrated surveillance systems. The discussion featured representatives from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry and the Royal Thai Police. I had an opportunity to sit in on the session and was interested to learn how the “Smart Thailand” project will enhance Thailand’s competitiveness in the region.
Still, for me, the biggest highlight of the show came when NICE’s Bernard Wong, our sales manager for the Southeast Asia region presented to 80 attendees at the GDSF (Global Digital Surveillance Forum) seminar, demonstrating how NICE’s solutions impact security operations and touch countless lives every day. Audience members were eager to learn about the latest industry standards and to discover which new technologies and products were on offer.
