NICE ANNOUNCES THE 2007 PSAPS' FINEST AWARDS

NICE is pleased to announce the 2007 PSAPs' Finest Awards, a competition that salutes the best of the best in 9-1-1 PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points). The PSAPs' Finest recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the field of public safety in the following four categories: Telecommunicator, Line Supervisor, Technician, and Communications Center Director of the Year.

The expanded awards program follows NICE's successful 2006 Telecommunicator of the Year contest, which NICE launched in conjunction with National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week last year. The PSAPs' Finest award program broadens the scope of last year's contest to include other key positions within the PSAP, and is open to public safety professionals worldwide. Nominations can be submitted online through June 1, 2007.

"PSAPs are a vital link in delivering emergency services and those who tirelessly work in this environment, dedicating their lives to serving our citizens and first responders, deserve our praise, thanks and recognition," said Chris Wooten, President of NICE's Public Safety Global Business Unit. "The PSAPs' Finest Award program was conceived with this purpose in mind."

Winners of the PSAPs' Finest awards will be announced in the June issue of NICE News Special Edition. In addition to being presented with a personalized award plaque, winners will also receive a high value prize (a portable DVD player). Award recipients will also be prominently recognized through individual profiles in the NICE customer newsletter.
