TWO LEADING MULTI-NATIONAL COMPANIES SELECT NICE TO ENHANCE SECURITY, SURVEILLANCE
NICE Systems' NiceVision® solution was recently selected by two leading multi-national companies, Prosegur Group and Fortis Bank, to enhance security and surveillance.

Prosegur Group specializes in alarms, surveillance services, and the transport and custody of cash for credit institutions and large retailers. The Spanish Company plans to employ NiceVision in its Cash in Transit division which packages and tags large volumes of cash for its customers, and then using a fleet of 600 armored vehicles, transports that cash to highly secure cash handling centers in Madrid and Barcelona and other sites throughout Spain. The NICE solution will capture and analyze video from 1,000 CCTV cameras installed at these cash handling facilities to provide an accurate record of cash processing activities and to resolve any potential disputes. "Should there be a discrepancy between the cash counted and the amount initially stated on its pack, we need to resolve this issue as quickly as possible," explains Oscar Esteban, national director of Logistics and Cash Management at Prosegur. "The high quality video images recorded by NICE will allow us to rapidly play back the complete handling process, from the moment a package enters the room when it is opened, through the counting process, in order to verify the validity of any reported discrepancy. This monitoring is of critical importance to Prosegur and ensures the highest level of confidence from our customers." The first implementations of the NICE solution have been successfully completed at the Prosegur sites in Madrid and Barcelona and more are currently underway with the assistance and local expertise of NICE partner Alava Ingenieros.

Fortis, Belgium's largest bank, is also upgrading its security infrastructure at various administration and cash handling sites with help from NICE Systems and Siemens Building Technologies. Fortis will be replacing its current surveillance equipment with NICE's high-quality digital video solution which will capture and analyze video from hundreds of CCTV cameras at multiple locations to help Fortis enhance security and improve business operations. Prior to implementing NICE's NiceVision solution, Fortis Bank had been using analog VCRs to record and store critical security footage. General Manager of Safety-Security at Fortis Bank, K. Matton explains why Fortis upgraded to NICE: "We needed an open, user friendly system that would deliver consistently high-quality video across the entire organization and would enable us to quickly and easily store, review and act upon surveillance information. NICE was able to provide us with a solution that encompassed all of these elements." Read more at www.nice.com/news/show_news.php?id=565.
