ADAMS COUNTY LOOKS TO NICE TO BOOST PRODUCTIVITY IN 9-1-1 CENTER
Long-time Dictaphone CRS customer Adams County Communications, Inc. (Adcom 9-1-1) has decided to upgrade to a NICE Systems' solution to record its emergency communications. Adcom 9-1-1 expects the move to greatly boost productivity in its 9-1-1 center.

Based in Commerce City, Colorado, Adcom 9-1-1 began operations three decades ago and had been a Dictaphone CRS customer since its inception in 1975. Adcom 9-1-1 serves approximately 400,000 citizens of the northeast metropolitan area of Denver, providing 9-1-1 and emergency radio communication services to 15 police, fire and EMS agencies. The Adcom center is staffed by 50 dispatchers who field approximately three-quarters of a million calls per year. Adcom 9-1-1's Mike Brunswig, who is heading up the center's transition to NICE, had this to say: "The support from NICE was a big consideration for us. We also found the NICE solution to be much easier to use and administer."

The NICE solution will afford Adcom 9-1-1 critical capabilities not previously available, such as the ability for district attorneys (DAs) to remotely access, research and download their own recordings for court. "Since Adcom 9-1-1 serves a 1,300 square mile area, we have numerous district attorney (DA) offices," said Brunswig. "Adcom receives over 1,000 requests for recordings each month. In the past, every time we received a request we'd need to dedicate a resource to research the incident. With the NICE system, the DAs will be able to access their own recordings remotely and securely over the network."

Brunswig, who is also the GIS Analyst for Adcom 9-1-1, also said that NICE Systems' focus on developing solutions to capture other multimedia information sources in the 9-1-1 center, will be important in the future. "We really want to try and keep up with technology," said Brunswig. "It's a big priority for Adcom to capture as much information about an incident as we can and implement new technology where it makes sense for us. We believe NICE is best positioned to be able to meet the future needs of Adcom."

"We're very pleased that Adcom 9-1-1 and many other public safety operations that were formerly Dictaphone CRS customers are selecting to upgrade to NICE solutions," said Chris Wooten, vice president of NICE Systems' Public Safety Division. "Customers like Adcom further validate that NICE is delivering real solutions to assist our nation's first responders."

Based in Commerce City, Colorado, Adams County Communication Center, Inc. (also referred to as Adcom 9-1-1) is a Colorado non-profit corporation governed by thirteen governmental agencies in Adams County, Colorado.
