| NICE NEWS FLASH - CNBC, BUSINESSWEEK, THE NEW YORK SUN |
 |
This month, NICE Systems continued to grab headlines in leading magazines and news media outlets. Businessweek Magazine offered readers a glimpse of NICE Systems' NICE Perform solution, in a piece entitled "This machine knows how you feel." In the article, which hit the streets in the October 1st edition of the Businessweek, NICE Systems' Eyal Danon talked about how NICE's advanced solutions for interaction analytics are helping companies identify everything from frustrated customers to fraudsters. When hurricanes Katrina and Rita made front-page news recently, CNBC News took a look at communications in times of disaster, interviewing a panel of experts from Mississippi Power, the New York/New Jersey Port Authority and NICE Systems. The panel discussed, among other things, the importance of taking lessons learned from previous disasters and applying those insights to future scenarios. "The systems that NICE provides allows first responders to capture the various sorts of interactions, whether they are radio or telephone or 9-1-1 communications, or even video, [and gain insight] so they can analyze what happened," said panel member John Kaiser of NICE Systems. John asserts that using recordings to reconstruct incidents enables first responders to plan better responses in the future. Click here to view the complete CNBC panel discussion.
In a separate interview on CNBC News, NICE Systems Vice President Ian Ehrenberg joined other CNBC Taskforce Panelists Bernard Kerik (the former New York City Police Commissioner), Governor James Gilmore, and NBC News Terror Analyst Roger Cressey for a discussion concerning recent terror threats. In this segment, Ian shares his thoughts on how video surveillance and content analytic solutions can be used not only to go back and review what happened, but also for proactive real-time threat detection. Ian says that the technology "can automatically detect events and bring them to the attention of first responders," and it can help security professionals distinguish between false alarms and real threats. The New York Sun also recently published an interesting article about NICE Systems - "Your Calls Are Being Recorded, Probably by NICE Systems." The article reveals some facts about NICE that were news to some New Yorkers and may be news to you too. For example, did you know that NICE Systems got its start selling surveillance systems to military organizations? You may also be surprised to learn that today, nearly 20 years later, NICE has extended its global reach to count 78 of the Fortune 100 companies, the world's top 10 banks, and 23,000 organizations spanning both corporate and government realms as its customers.
