NICE INTRODUCES NICECALL FOCUS III, HOLDS USER SUMMIT AT APCO
Each year, public safety decision-makers the world over converge at the annual APCO (Association of Public Safety Communication Officials) conference. At this year's conference, held recently in Denver, Colorado, NICE Systems introduced its newest recording solution - NiceCall Focus III. The APCO conference also marked another first for NICE Systems; the company held its first-ever public safety user group summit at the event.

NiceCall Focus III debuts at APCO
Conference-goers who visited the NICE booth at APCO got an up close look at NiceCall Focus III, a new recording solution from NICE designed specifically for small and mid-sized public safety, call center and dispatch operations. NiceCall Focus III is a cost-effective, yet highly resilient and feature rich recording solution that is easy to use and maintain. It offers unmatched online capacity coupled with NICE's Scenario Replay® software - a powerful search and replay tool that enables rapid, effortless reconstruction of incidents from recorded interactions.

An open-architecture design ensures that NiceCall Focus III fits seamlessly into today's environments and is a long-lived investment for the future. All of NiceCall Focus III's many features and benefits are available in a single, space-saving unit, eliminating the need for servers and other costly hardware. NICE user summit at APCO scores points with customers
This year, NICE also hosted a public safety user summit exclusively for our public safety customers attending the APCO conference. Close to 70 customers participated in the two-hour long event held at the Colorado Convention Center. Sergeant Claude Armstrong, commanding officer of the Tape & Records Unit of the New York Police Department and co-chair of the public safety NICE User Group (NUG), kicked off the summit with a presentation highlighting the many benefits of membership in NUG.

Summit attendees also heard first-hand from customers who are using and benefiting from NICE technology. Terry Hall, communications manager for York County (VA), shared details on his County's trunked radio recording solution which is saving the County time and money. Fran Grillo, training director for Monroe County 911 (NY), discussed how NICE's Scenario Replay software is helping cut her Center's research time by two-thirds and generating significant productivity and quality improvements. Mark Conrey, communications chief for Omaha (NE) 911, talked about his trunked radio recording and replay solution from NICE which is not only more reliable, but is saving his Center 20 to 30 personnel hours each week.

The summit concluded with a presentation on the future of recording technology given by Jimmy Lutz, director of marketing for NICE Systems. In his presentation, Jimmy took summit attendees on a trek into the not-too-distant future to see how new techniques for capturing and distributing multi-media in the 911 center might hold the key to more thorough and timely incident investigation and evidence distribution. He also discussed how emerging technologies, such as audio analytics, can help comm centers uncover hidden insight in the thousands of interactions they handle every day and improve emergency response.
