NICE Systems to Demonstrate Next Generation 9-1-1-ready Solutions in Booth 509 at NENA 2010
June 3, 2010
By Linda Haelsen, NICE Systems
The theme for this year’s national NENA Conference, taking place June 5-10, 2010 at the Indiana Convention Center, is “Your future starts here.” Consistent with that focus, NICE Systems will be showcasing its Next Generation 9-1-1-ready solutions in its booth (#509) at the show. Among the solutions NICE will be demonstrating are NICE Inform, the world’s first full-spectrum Next Gen 9-1-1-ready multimedia incident information management solution, specifically designed to help PSAPs capture, consolidate and manage multimedia incident information, including audio, video, text and data, as well as the NiceLog, a VoIP recording platform.
NG9-1-1 standards are taking shape and some emergency communications centers are getting ready to receive live Next Gen 9-1-1 calls this year. When the full migration to Next Gen 9-1-1 takes place, PSAPs will be inundated with multimedia data, and NICE Inform offers a solution to meet this challenge. NICE Inform was also built to straddle different data repositories and public safety systems, including GIS and CAD, for authentic 360-degree incident capture and reconstruction. Additionally, as Next Generation emergency communications standards evolve, NICE Inform’s open architecture will support these future data formats and standards.
NICE will also be hosting two educational NG 9-1-1 sessions on June 7 and 8 at NENA 2010 which will provide an exhil arating look at “the PSAP of the future” and emerging technology trends. In addition, NICE NG9-1-1 expert John Rennie will participate in a panel discussion titled “ NG9-1-1 and Multimedia in a 9-1-1 Center Near You: R U READY?” on June 9.
NICE’s NG9-1-1 focused activities at NENA are taking place on the heels of NICE’s participation in the recent NENA NG9-1-1 ICE 2 (Industry Collaboration Event) which completed successfully on May 28, 2010. During this event, NICE’s NiceLog VoIP recording platform and NICE Inform multimedia incident information management solution passed the first phase of interoperability testing, capturing audio and related call information traveling through an ESInet from a SPAN port.
