NICE Inform Awarded Casino Journal’s Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products Award for Second Year in a Row
May 17, 2010
By Linda Haelsen, NICE Systems
NICE Systems has once again been selected by Casino Journal to receive a Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products award. Casino Journal's Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products Awards competition recognizes the most innovative technology offerings in the gaming industry. This year, NICE’s incident information management solution, NICE Inform, took home ‘Top 20’ honors. This is the second consecutive year that NICE has been named to the ‘Top 20’ list.
Every year, liability claims, cheating and scams cost many casinos millions of dollars. Negative publicity stemming from incidents can also damage a casino’s reputation. When incidents do occur, the casino needs to be able to prove what happened when. Establishing what actions it took and whether appropriate safeguards were in place can also minimize losses and mitigate risks. NICE Inform provides an overall perspective of incidents, allowing a casino to easily connect the dots in an investigation. With NICE Inform, voice recordings, surveillance video, and desktop screens are seamlessly combined into a complete, authentic, chronological incident timeline for a 360-degree incident view. Further, incident reconstructions are retained in NICE Inform’s online incident folders, (along with reports, emails, photos, faxes, video clips, files, and other data), and can be securely shared by investigators, counsel, and risk managers for streamlined investigations.
A comprehensive multimedia incident information management solution, NICE Inform is used in gaming, public safety, transportation and other environments, and is currently installed at hundreds of sites, including some of the world’s largest public safety departments like the NYPD and the FDNY (the New York City Police and Fire Departments), and the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
The NICE Inform solution was among 80 product entries evaluated by an expert panel of judges that included a cross-section of gaming industry leaders, notably: Blake Cumbers (vice president of development, Boyd Gaming, Las Vegas, Nev.); Jay Fennel, (principal, Pfie Gaming Consulting, Las Vegas, Nev.); Troy Simpson, (senior vice president of innovation, Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino, Lakeside, Calif.); and Gregg Solomon, (chief executive officer, Motor City Casino, Detroit, Mich.).
“We are very honored to receive Casino Journal’s Most Innovative Gaming Technology awards for the second year in a row,” said Chris Wooten, President, Security Division Americas, NICE. “NICE Inform is in a class of its own as a solution for casino investigations and after action reporting. Ultimately, it can help protect against losses and mitigate risks, while ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees and guests.”
“Casino Journal’s Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Awards showcase the best minds in gaming industry technology,” said Charles Anderer, publisher, BNP Media Gaming Group. “It’s always a thrill to see the industry’s spirit of innovation in action. And the large field of entries for this year’s contest certainly is a testament to the vitality of that spirit. NICE Systems and our other ‘Top 20’ winners deserve special congratulations this year. The competition was intense.”
The Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Awards will be presented at the eighth annual Gaming Technology Summit, taking place May 25-26, 2010, at the Green Valley Ranch casino resort in Las Vegas. Award-winners will also be featured in the May issue of Casino Journal Magazine.
