NICE to Discuss “Next Generation 999 – Managing Multimedia Incident Information” and to Demonstrate the Latest Version of NICE Inform at BAPCO 2011
April 6, 2011
NICE Systems, the worldwide leader of intent-based solutions that extract insight to impact business performance, reduce financial risk and ensure safety and security, today announced thatit will discuss “Next Generation 999 – Managing Multimedia Incident Information” at the main conference at BAPCO 2011, on April 14th at 3.05 and 3.35 p.m. It will also be demonstrating its incident information management solution, NICE Inform, on stand 217 of the exhibition. BAPCO 2011 is a conference for professionals in major incident public safety communications and information management that takes place 13-14 April, at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London.
Emergency calls and other incident-related information are entering the command and control room in increasingly diverse data formats: VoIP calls, real-time text messages, wireless emergency calls accompanied by camera-phone pictures or streaming CCTV video, automatic crash notifications and more. Police forces will look to capture and use these next generation emergency communications to improve incident response and success rates.
On Thursday 14 April, between 3:05 and 3:35, in the main conference, Murray Barker, Public Safety Product Manager at NICE, will explain how Police forces can prepare for the next generation of inbound emergency communications and how it has the potential to not only improve the quality-of-service, but also reduce operating costs in the longer term. He states: “During BAPCO 2011 we will demonstrate how to quickly, effectively and cost-efficiently reconstruct emergency calls, incidents and events using voice, video, screen, data, or any other type of multi-media incident information that may come in to the command and control centre today, or tomorrow.”
Visitors to stand 217 of the exhibition will also be able to see a demonstration of the latest version of NICE’s innovative multimedia incident information management solution, NICE Inform, which that brings multimedia information together, all in one place, to create seamless incident timelines.
To further help the UK’s emergency services professionals plan for the next generation of 999, NICE will provide insights from its involvement as an active participant of the US organisation NENA (National Emergency Number Association) – an expert forum that supports the progress towards Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1). During the presentation NICE will explain how some Command and Control Centres in the US expect to be able to receive NG9-1-1 calls as early as this year and will discuss how they are dealing with issues of funding, managing new technologies and operations.
