NICE recently held its annual Customer Conference, Interactions 2011, in Las Vegas, NV. It was a big success, with over 1500 attendees. And for the first time, NICE Security participated, with a contingent of over 100 participants. The feedback was hugely positive. Customers came away from the event better educated about security operations and public safety, more knowledgeable of industry best practices, and more in tune with emerging trends in the market. I couldn’t help but notice that even though it was their first time attending, the security and public safety customers were so visible in the “Birds of a Feather” at the breakfast networking events. For the security and public safety side of our business, this year’s customer conference was a positive step toward building a strong, interactive and participative community!
One of the highlights of the event was a presentation on the NICE User Group, or NUG, as it’s known, given by Steve Sullivan, CEO of the NUG, and Communications Supervisor Karin Marquez of the City of Westminster Police/Fire Department, who took the initiative to start a NICE Colorado User Community. They both talked about the value of customers sharing experiences, and the power of the NUG to represent the interests of all users. Karin and Steve announced that very soon, the NUG would be launching a special user group just for NICE security and public safety customers. Immediately following the session, several customers approached me to find out how they could participate. (Keep your eyes and ears tuned for an announcement this summer!) All indicators are that the Security NUG will be a big success based on the early interest and feedback.
We also had a number of sessions at Interactions 2011 that discussed emerging solutions to the daunting security and operational concerns our customers face today. Attendees heard how NICE customers, like LAX and DFW to name a few, had partnered with NICE to address these very challenges. For me, it really illustrated that when you buy a NICE solution, you get so much more -- an on-going, long term partner!
With Interactions 2011 in the rear-view mirror, the wheels are already starting to spin for next year. You can expect Interactions 2012 to be even bigger and better! So if you’re a NICE security or public safety customer and you missed out this inaugural year, keep an eye out for an invite in 2012.
